Youth exchange student tours are an extension to the adventures that you have during your year in the U.S.  So if you are looking for a bus trip to see a part of this large country that you would not get to see otherwise – a way to meet other inbound exchange students from 25 or more different countries – a way to make great friends and form bonds that will last a lifetime, then you’ll want to join us on one of our summer bus tours that are planned especially for exchange students.

Chuck and Nancy Frazier hosted their first exchange student over 25 years ago, a girl from Sweden.  Since then, they have hosted MANY students from numerous different countries, have attended weddings of some of their exchange “children” in their home country and still stay in contact with several of them yet today.  Their own daughter participated in a full year exchange to West Africa so they know both the inbound and the outbound sides of international youth exchange programs.

For nearly 15 years, Chuck has worked with inbound exchange students in North America to provide them an opportunity to travel to several states either on the East or the West Coast of the U. S.  Nancy has joined in the planning efforts   and they have operated successful tours every year - tours that are usually filled to capacity with waiting lists.  The goal of SCAT tours is to minimize the amount of time spent on a bus and concentrate on spending more time going to places and doing things in the areas that you visit.  Even with that idea in mind, students will still travel over 1,600 kilometers (1,000 miles) on the Eastern States Tour and as many as 2,300 kilometers (1,500 miles) on the Western States Tours.

The tours are planned with a mix of historical, education, cultural and of course entertaining events and sites. On any of the tours, you will have an opportunity to visit some of the major cities of the U. S. and see some very famous places that you have probably read about before coming to North America.

“This trip was the greatest part of my year. I made so many new friends and saw so many famous places. I’m so happy that I decided to do this.” Emma, Brazil  These are the kind of comments heard from students after traveling on one of the SCAT summer tours. The tour just may be the highlight of your year in the U. S.

These great tours could not happen without the generous support t
he experienced adult staff, many of whom are school teachers, who give up more than 2 weeks of their personal time to make the trips possible for students and the great hotels that go out of their way to ensure a positive experience. We’re very grateful to all of these people.

We think that you will find all of the information that you will need on the tour pages of the SCAT website.  However, if you still have some questions, contact the tour administrator with your specific questions or concerns.
